What is a CSA? CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture”. When you purchase a CSA, you are supporting and investing in your local farmer in advance (in what we call our “off season”). In return, later in the season we provide you with 100% local & organic produce. As a seasonal flower farm with no outdoor structures yet, Marigold Rhode’s growing season runs June-October. When joining our flower club share in the off season, you help keep the farm running in preparation for the next upcoming season filled with color & hope.
Why is it an amazing idea to join our Flower Club CSA’s? By joining our flower club you are making a positive impact on our environment (& also making your local flower farmer smile). Over 75% of cut flowers in the United States are being imported. These imported flowers are bathed in neurotoxic carcinogenic chemicals to preserve them through transportation and eradicate invasive pests. Before reaching peoples kitchen counters… most flowers in the United States travel between 1,500 to over 4,000 miles in refrigerated planes, trucks, boats etc. Think of the significant negative environmental impact & footprint that is making. Every week of the share we provide unique chemical free flowers. Grown with love, straight from the field & right into your hands. Whats better than that?
CSA TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
PAYMENT & GIFTING I understand that by purchasing this CSA, there are NO refunds or cancellations. Flower club members may choose to find an alternate person to buy the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred upon request. REMINDER: If you are gifting someone a flower share, you MUST specify in “notes” upon checkout. We will need contact information of the gift recipient (name, email address, phone number) for all future communication about start dates and pickup details.
SHARE DATES I understand that the start of the CSA share is flexible and based on seasonal conditions and product availability. I am aware that Marigold Rhode will be in contact via email to inform all flower club members of updates and start dates, and that it is my responsibility to contact the farm via email if I am not receiving notifications near the specified CSA start dates shared in the product details.
PICKING UP YOUR SHARE If I am unable to pickup my CSA for any reason, I understand that it is my responsibility to find a substitute to take my share. If I am unable to pickup my share or find a substitute, I will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that I do not pickup.
FLOWER CLUB SHARED RISKS I understand that as a flower club member, I share both the beautiful bounty as well as the natural risks of farming. I understand that the risks include poor harvests due to weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as flood, drought, fire, hurricane, tropical storm etc. However, if such loss happens, Marigold Rhode promises to work with flower club members to offer alternative products in a later season.
